Friends of

Danson Park

welcome you

Who we are

Friends of Danson Park was established in 2002. A voluntary group, funded by its membership and fund-raising activities, its aims have always been to work, not only to enhance and increase the Park’s environmental and ecological sustainability but also to support other groups working within the Park and Danson House.

What we do

With an increased emphasis on working with local schools, colleges and other groups within the Borough of Bexley, the FODP, with the support of the
Council, are working on the implementation of a variety of environmental projects as well as the introduction of a range of family events throughout the
summer and autumn

Membership and volunteers

The Friends welcome new members. Bi monthly meetings, held at The Boathouse, Danson Park, include either informative talks from guest speakers or a social event followed by the opportunity to raise and discuss issues relating to the park. Volunteers who are not members are also welcome to take part in the planned practical tasks going on in the park, please see Upcoming events.

Fundraising

In addition to funds raised from the Membership fee, in the summer of 2018, the Friends are opening a stall in the Park, selling a variety of books, puzzles and plants – 100% of the money raised will go into improving Danson Park for the community.
